Local Action Fund

The AONB has a small grant in the region of £2,600 annually to grant aid local community projects within the AONB. The criteria the projects will have to meet are that they help to deliver the Management Plan, that they have been endorsed by the Parish Council and that they have community support. You can down load the guidance and application form from this web site, but you should contact the AONB Office to have a chat about your proposed project before filling in the form.

The grants are usually small and are used primarily to support projects that are unable to attract grant aid from other sources. Grants run from 1st April every year. Completed projects are promoted through the AONB web site and in ‘The Hart’.

The intention is to offer support and encouragement to communities and/or interest groups to work together to take positive action locally, raising community spirit and increasing awareness and understanding of the AONB designation. It is envisaged that the combined effect of many local projects throughout the area will, over time, make a considerable contribution towards conserving and enhancing the AONB.
