Sustainable Development Fund
Got a great and innovative project but never thought it would get funding?
The Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Sustainable Development Fund can make the difference between just talking about new projects and making them happen!
The Sustainable Development Fund (SDF) promotes and supports projects that have a positive impact on our local environment, economy and communities within the AONB. Projects that help conserve and enhance the AONB so it can be enjoyed by everyone for years to come!
Applying for the fund is easy, without lots of complicated paper work. The application process is designed to give you direction so you can make a real difference in your local community. Of course there is for criteria that your project must meet to qualify for funding, but the AONB staff will also help you at every step of the application process, so you can develop the best application possible.
The sustainable development fund gave out over £60,000 in grants in 2007 – 2008 alone! There is money available now for your project.
If you have any questions or queries please contact us at the AONB, we are always happy to have an informal chat and answer any questions you may have.
Of course there are criteria that applicants have to meet, but these are designed to give positive direction, not to put barriers around applications. roadly, the criteria are as follows - Projects should:
- Further the purpose of the AONB in protecting or enhancing natural beauty in its widest sense.
- Be sustainable against the test of economic, social and environmental development.
- Have the demonstrable support or involvement of the community.
- Be complementary to key local, regional and national strategies.
- Help deliver an objective of the AONB Management Plan.
