Sowing SEEDS Logo

Sowing SEEDS is a locally led funding programme relating to community change

Sowing SEEDS covers the Community Partnerships Executive North Dorset (CPEND) area of North and East Dorset and the AONB.

Working together, we have secured £2.85 million to improve the economic wellbeing of the area with funding available until the end of 2013. The funding is being delivered through the Local Action Group, a Group that wants to support your project ideas.

We need ideas that support the local rural businesses in your area, or that help your community make the most of its natural environment or cultural heritage – activities that will have a long term beneficial impact on where you live and work.

To be eligible for funding your project idea must be innovative and community led, benefit people in the area and fit the Objectives of the Programme by:

  • Supporting rural businesses involving local products, services or skills,
  • Providing increased opportunities for socio economic growth through the conservation and enhancement of the area’s natural and built environment; or
  • Developing opportunities from local culture and heritage to engender a sense of shared identity, leading to the development of innovative community based enterprise for sustainable economic growth.
