David Hansford Photography - Vale and Down 2010 Calendar

For the third year I am publishing a calendar based on the landscape which is local to myself – of the Blackmore Vale and Cranborne Chase AOBN - situated in Dorset and Wiltshire.

The calendar is now on sale in local and regional retailers including the National Trust Shop at Stourhead or by contacting David direct.The response is extremely high with retailers reporting that their sales since mid August has exceeded their entire sales during 2008. The front of the calendar uses a photograph taken in February 2009 of Gold Hill, Shaftesbury. Other items available online.

Alison Ciantar - Textiles and Ceramics

After studying ceramics at Middlesex Polytechnic and Camberwell School of Art, I spent the following years exhibiting collage drawings and handpainted fabric in London. Moving to Dorset in 2000 resulted in a return to clay, inspired by the seabirds and marine life. For the past few years I have been exploring using felt as a base and sketching on it with a variety of mixed fibres creating subtle lines and shading of seagulls and chickens. Gentle impressions of a lasting nature.

Georgie Welch - Bronze Sculptor - Sutton Veny

A horse lover herself Georgie uses her artistic eye and practical learning to create bronze figurines mainly of horses and dogs. Working with the animal and their owner Georgie strives to find the very essence of each character and capture individual poses. Johnathan Garratt Woodfired Pots

Jonathan Garratt has specialised in making distinctive and unusual terracotta pots for gardens for nearly 30 years and currently enjoys a reputation as one of Britain’s foremost garden artists. His passion for plants informs many of the innovative designs available only from the pottery and he produces a wide selection of shapes for specific plant habits. All the pots are made from local clay refined at the pottery and are fired exclusively with wood from the locality to produce subtle, natural colours on the finished work.

Susan Macarthur Textile and Painting - Broad Chalke

The Original Game Company

The first game The Original Game Company produced was a derivation of shove ha’penny, but played from both ends; this new version has proved highly popular and an excellent gift. Particularly as it is supplied with six original ships’ happenings. The majority of boards are now made in English Oak from the Stourhead Estate in Wiltshire.

Higher Green Farm at Twyford, near Shaftesbury, Dorset is a converted farm in a stunning rural setting, for the teaching of all forms of Art and Craft. The development of the farm to date includes a large multi purpose Studio Gallery with a substantial landscaped level area for outside activities. There is ample car parking on hardstanding. The former dairy has recently been converted in to working studio spaces including pottery wheels and kiln, a sculpture workshop and a small shop/gallery selling locally produced Arts and Crafts.

Wylye Valley Art Trail 84 venues - 280 artists

Wylye Valley Art Trail, a nine - day celebration of the visual arts in and around the Wylye Valley of South Wiltshire. It's a unique opportunity to see the wide range of art being carried out in this area. Visit open studios, exhibitions and galleries, meet and talk to artists and craftspeople. Much of the work on view is for sale and many of the artists and craftspeople involved will work to commission.
