FREE - Sense of Place Promotional Toolkit

Sep 1, 2016
A collection of resources to help boost visitor numbers and to ensure that your visitors connect with the area
and all it has to offer.

Sense of Place ToolkitAre you making the most of the fact that your business is located in a very special landscape?

This toolkit provides a collection of resources to help boost visitor numbers and to ensure that your visitors connect with the area and all it has to offer.

What is the toolkit for?

The toolkit is for tourism, or tourism related businesses based in, and operating within, the Cranborne Chase AONB. We hope this toolkit will help you to use your sense of place and local knowledge to benefit your business. It is not a visitor guide, rather a resource to help make sure that your visitors connect with the area and all it has to offer.

Sense of Place ToolkitHow much does the toolkit cost?

Nothing, it is free of charge. All you need is an enthusiasm to improve your business and a love of your local area.

How is the toolkit organised?

We have organised this toolkit into themes based on the key special qualities of the AONB. Each one focuses on a key special quality of the area - from its rich heritage and wildlife, to the unique character and produce of the landscape.

By taking inspiration from one (or more) of these themes in your day-to-day activities, you can promote what is locally distinctive about the area which will not only benefit your business, but also the future of sustainable tourism in the area:

  • An Outstanding Landscape
  • Special Landscapes to Enjoy
  • A Landscape Rich in Wildlife
  • A Landscape Rich in Heritage
  • A Living, Working Landscape
  • Delicious Local Food and Drink
  • Amazing Arts and Crafts

A Flexible & Comprehensive Resource

Sense of Place ToolkitYou can take as much or as little as you like from the Toolkit. For example, you might have a column on your website that could accommodate the logo, a picture of the landscape and some text describing the characteristics of the countryside where you are.

Alternatively you might just want to use the logo with a link to the Cranborne Chase AONB website. If you are producing a leaflet you may wish to use more text including a quotation, multiple images and maybe a map.

Whatever your requirement, this promotional toolkit will provide fast and free access to the resources you need – saving you time and money. Each section contains text, images and if relevant, links to other web sites.
