General Pitt Rivers reveals the secrets of the founding fathers of archaeology


GeneralThe Cranborne Chase AONB's Foundations of Archaeology project will be hosting some fascinating pop up talks at the Chalke Valley History Festival (@CVHISTORYFEST) every day from Friday until Sunday.

Entitled 'Fathers of Archaeology', the talks take place in the NAAFI and are scheduled for:

7pm on Friday 3 June

11am on Saturday 1 July

12pm on Sunday 2 July

All talks, except the one on 3 June when Emma Rouse will be in the spotlight, will be delivered by General Pitt Rivers himself, one of the founding fathers of archaeology, who lived at the Rushmore Estate within the AONB.
