AONB Partnership
An area of England or Wales may be designated as an AONB if it is considered to be of such outstanding natural beauty that it becomes imperative that the qualities that make it so be preserved and enhanced. Part IV of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 makes provision for this and sets out who should be involved in managing the AONB. While the wider partnership of the AONB involves everyone who lives and works or visits the Area, the bodies upon which responsibilities devolve are termed the Partnership Panel.
