Members - AONB Partnership Forum

Picture of Chairman Dr.  Richard PottsThe Partnership Forum has a very wide membership and is open to any organisation that has an interest in the AONB. The Forum takes place in a different part of the AONB each year. Invitees include:


  • The 104 parish councils within the AONB.
  • Officers and Members from the 11 Local Authorities.
  • All members of the Partnership Panel, the Topic Groups and Technical Advice Group.
  • Representatives from over 100 other organisations with an interest in the AONB.

The AONB Partnership Panel is an alliance of twenty two organisations. Representatives meet at least three times a year to oversee and guide the implementation of the Management Plan.

One Member and/or one Officer from each of the eleven Local Authorities:

  • Wiltshire County Council
  • Dorset County Council
  • Hampshire County Council
  • Somerset County Council
  • Salisbury District Council
  • West Wiltshire District Council
  • East Dorset District Council
  • North Dorset District Council
  • New Forest District Council
  • Mendip District Council
  • South Somerset District Council

One representative from those organisations with a specialist, regional or national interest in the AONB:

  • Countryside Agency
  • English Nature
  • English Heritage
  • South West Tourism
  • Campaign to Protect Rural England
  • Forestry Commission
  • Environment Agency

Those organisations with a local or community interest in the AONB:

  • The Country Land and Business Association (1 rep)
  • National Farmers Union (2 reps)
  • Wiltshire Association of Town and Parish Councils (1 rep)
  • Dorset Association of Town and Parish Councils (1 rep)
